With the burgeoning popularity of the ukulele, there has been a rush to publish both instructional and song books for ukulele players. And, while the title may be appealling and full of promise, it’s often difficult to know what’s between the covers unless you can actually hold the book in your hands and flip through its pages. Fortunately for me, that’s something I often have the privelege of doing in the course of ordering books for Kani Ka Pila. (And, my basic philosophy is that I don’t order anything I wouldn’t want to own and use myself.) Even so, as much as I might like a particular book (and only the ones I like end up in our store) not all books are right for all players. So, it seems only fair to write up a more detailed review for you which might help you make a more informed decision than a fancy cover and a promising title. Please note, if you onlly see good reveiws here, it’s only because I’m only going to write about the ones I like.
This list will keep growing, so please come back often. (Please click on the book to read the review.)
